CLASSIC BUSES
2007 is the first time we'd been to the Eden Classic for some years. Back then it focused on the railway yard at Kirkby Stephen East. To the whole families delight the event has expanded to cover multiple sites at Kirkby Stephen and Brough. To link up the whole proceedings a vintage bus service, with a ten minute headway is provided. One bus on that service was Leyland Leopard SCS335M.  I was lucky enough to ride on it prior to it starting the days duties. This feat came about because the owner and driver Gary McG was my old boss at Falkirk, so an unexpected and pleasant reunion. I was also pleased to see many faces from the Scottish Branch of the Omnibus Society and the Scottish Vintage bus Museum.

Above are three exhibits seen at the Glasgow Bus Museums 2006 Open Day. On the left a beautifully restored Alexander bodied Atlantean.  In the centre a Duple bodied Bedford. Then on the left, another Alexander bodied Leyland, an Olympian.
The above three were photographed in Cumbria. The Bristol RE (left) and Atlantean (centre) are at Carnforth. The Bristol LH at Ravenglass.
These three vehicles have a link, but it's not obvious! On the left a Leyland National at Carnforth, centre, a Vista bodied Bedford SB in Glasgow. On the right is Glasgow Bus Museum resident, MSF750P, sitting at Southwaite en route for Carnforth.
