FALKIRK TPU |
|
My "proper" bus driving career started
with Falkirk Transport Planning Unit. I'd driven minibuses for them,
part time for a few months, but they were always stretched for PCV
drivers for the 28 seaters. So in a bid to take up driving full
time I managed to raise the money for the training and test. Little
realising that passing my test would see me driving for Stagecoach West
Cumbria less than six months later. |

Despite the sunshine, in the left and
centre pictures, they were taken in February 2006. T477TSC represents
the old guard in Falkirk, SN04KFG the new. On the right, the
oldest of the Falkirk fleet N601FSC. A twist of fate meant it was the
last Falkirk bus I drove. 3 months after I'd left!!!! I did a quick trip
north for Glasgow Bus Museums Open Day and it coincided with a
Grangemouth group needing a driver. |

On the left, at the time I finished in
Falkirk SF06DXE was the newest bus in the fleet and was escaping from
Bainsford Day Centre to Oswald Avenue. It had always been intended to
work at Grangemouth, but had been hijacked!
On the right, SV54DPE, one of the
Bainsford buses. |
